Skyline E-Communication
January 11, 2002
~COACHING. THIS SUNDAY. 9 am - 4 pm, at the Consistory. Park
free in the usual lots. SECTION SHIRTS suggested.
~DURING COACHING please remember: No talking on risers while
coaches are working with us. Do not direct questions or comments to coaches. If
you hate the suggestions made by the coach, just smile and go along with it.
Vickie will sort it out later. This is an opportunity to try new things - we
may or may not actually incorporate them into our performances. Get there in
time to be on the risers and READY TO GO AT 9 am. This is also a great
opportunity to make a new friend by asking one of our new members to join you
for lunch.
~If we ever must miss a coaching, we notify Blair Krehn in
advance. If we have missed, we sit out for the first part of the next rehearsal
to observe changes and updates made during the coaching session.
RISER PLACEMENT next Tues. Vickie reminds us that an absence
can be excused for a funeral or emergency surgery if it is yours.
~Etiquette for this week-end’s H.O.W.: Feel free to wear
your Skyline pins and medals. It’s nice to show respect for our region by
dressing up a little (a slacks-instead-of-jeans kind of thing). Skyline
custom is to set a good example of positive talk and praise for our SAI sisters
and faculty, and we are asked to please save any negative comments for when and
where there is no way they can be overheard (in your shower, at home, is a nice
safe place).

$$$$$ NEWS $$$$
~ Each member will PAY $20 of her registration fee for
regionals. The fee per member is $45. At our current membership, that would
cost the chorus over $7000! By each pitching in just $20, it saves the chorus
over $3000. (The chorus has already paid a $90 registration fee for each member
to go to Nashville. When I do the math, that comes to more than $14,000!) As a
further save-up-for-Nashville measure, MT has decided we will not have a chorus
breakfast at regionals.
~ Please pay your $20 by Feb 5. After Feb 5, it will cost an
additional $5. Make checks to Skyline Chorus and write "registration"
on the check. Checks go to Lurlene Unruh.

CARDS and good wishes to Adrienne Blue and husband, Russell,
who suffered a stroke mid-December.
WHERE ARE THEY?
Kathy Easton: taking a leave of absence. She reports she
lost 95% of her business after 9/11 and wants to concentrate on finding
business/or a job. She hopes to be back after regional competition.
Sue Gilbert and Gloria Morgan: on leave, traveling and
visiting family and grandchildren.

Theresa Trollinger: "The region has a plan to do an
article for the Pieces of Eight featuring mother-daughter chorus members or
Brats as they are known, the definition being they are second generation
barbershopper. This also would apply if your father is/ was a SPEBS member. If
you would like to submit your story to Theresa, she can compile them / edit
them and send a final copy to the editor of the PO8 for the Regional
Competition issue. Remember, it needs to be Mothers & Daughters, or
Father's and Daughters...we will do a husband and wife issue and a sisters
issue in the future. The deadline will be March 1 2002. If you don't send
something by that time, Theresa will assume that you aren't interested in
participating. Have a great day!" Theresa
